It’s The Debt Stupid

11 Apr

MUST WATCH: Rick Santelli slams the Obama’s phony “Buffet Rule” » The Right Scoop –.

We do not have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem. Mr. Santelli (the father of the Tea Party) hits the nail right on the head. You can not confiscate enough from the “rich” to even make the smallest impact on our yearly deficits and accumulated debt. We must cut spending now, across the board, no matter how painful it might be or the country will cease to exist as a world economic power.

As a matter of perspective, when Obama came into office, the National debt stood at just over $9 trillion. By election day later this year, it will be approaching $16 trillion. If Obama is re-elected and continues to spend at his current pace, he will have amassed more debt in his 8 years in office than ALL previous presidents combined. If that fact alone does not make you vote him out of office and half of Congress with him, I have no additional words for you. You are a lost cause.

What a lot of politicians fail to realize is the debt issue can be a very, VERY powerful issue with young voters. Young voters have traditionally been a staple for the Democratic party. Focusing on the impact a large debt will have on the youth might swing them to the GOPs side. Do it well enough and a permanent realignment could occur. Solves the GOPs demographic problem and takes votes from the Democrats. We should be much more forceful with this issue.
