One of the best explanations I’ve seen with regard to fracking and why when it is done properly, it should have no adverse effect on aquifers.

Watts Up With That?

This post represents two milestones for WUWT.

1. It is the first post where a detailed examination of fracking has been offered to the readers.

2. It is the first post I’ve authored from an airplane cruising about 35,000 feet enroute from Atlanta to Phoenix. I’m connected to Southwest’s new inflight WiFI service. Mr. McClenney sent me this post just as I was about to board and I emailed back that I wouldn’t be able to get to it for hours. And then I discovered this new miracle of technology. Here’s my view just before posting:

Guest post by William F. McClenney

I had occasion recently to watch several presentations on environmental aspects of hydraulic fracturing at the world’s largest oil and gas industry conference. To this day I remain dumbfounded as to why the argument I am about to present here has never been mentioned before (at least…

Real Violent Rhetoric

And not the fake kind that the Tea Party is accused of.

Far Left Leaders Rail Against Governor Scott Walker at Union Rally – Scream “Cut Off His Head!” (Video) | The Gateway Pundit.

Beyond obvious here as to which side the violent rhetoric comes from. Can we hold these people responsible if, God forbid Gov. Scott Walker winds up dead or injured. These people are seriously unhinged.

A Passionate Plea

MUST LISTEN: Mark Levin’s sobering monologue about America’s future » The Right Scoop –.

This is why they call him “The Great One”!

Mark Levin does a masterful job of clearly and passionately defining what is at stake in November of this year.

I urge you to listen to this clip. I urge you to inform yourself regarding how far we have strayed from our founding documents. I urge you to consider those who will come after you and how your vote will effect their future. I urge my Democrat friends to look beyond your party and consider the slippery slope your leaders have created and pushed us down. I urge my Republican friends not to accept a candidate who will not stand on principle, tacks to the center of the road and seeks accommodation with anything that is not Constitutional.

We have been betrayed by the academic, political and bureaucratic elites. They must be turned out! November is our chance to begin the long march back. It will take generations. We must start TODAY!

A Perfect Example of What Not to Do

50p tax rate ‘failing to boost revenues’.

Or how raising taxes does not necessarily create more government revenue.

Do you think our Government will learn from this example? Not likely, our President and resident economic “wizard of smart” Barack Obama wants to raise the dividend income tax rate to 44%. I will guarantee that is this occurs, investing in “buy and hold” stocks will all but come to a stand still as investors adapt other strategies to avoid the new tax rate. The result will be a more volatile stock market as “buy and hold” falls out of favor and a reduction in revenue from dividend income taxes and not the huge gain that the OMB with their “head in the sand” static scoring model had predicted.

Elemental economics at work. Something that Washington seems to not even remotely understand.

Are You Helping to Pull the Wagon . . .

. . . or are you hitching a ride?

It’s takers versus makers and these days the takers are winning | Glenn Harlan Reynolds | Columnists | Washington Examiner.

An excellent column by one of my favorite bloggers, Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit fame.

He makes an undeniable point. Our safety net is being abused, both willfully and as an indirect result of our government’s complete lack of economic competence. Time to make it harder to get into the wagon and to throw out the current “wizards of smart”.

The Sound You Hear is The Shark Being Jumped

Romney: “I am not going to walk away from [Romney-care]“ « Hot Air#comments#comments#comments#comments#comments.

Romney-care is a disaster in Massachusetts!

I would have much more respect for the man if he would admit it and pledge to reverse course. Mitt is picking the wrong hill to die on. This is one of the big reasons he has been unable to separate himself from the pack. I really don’t think the base of the GOP wants anything to do with him. He is the candidate of the Establishment/Beltway wing of the party. You know, the ones how engineered the huge upset in 2010. Oh wait, I got that wrong. It was the TEA PARTY!

I think the base has revolted and will not be dictated to any more. No more Doles, no more McCains.
